Chakra Colors and
"WHAT COLORS ARE CONSIDERED LUCKY"

Question: "What are my lucky colors?"

Life is lived in color, and those colors evoke different emotional and vibrational responses from people, and attract different frequencies of experience. Color is the reflection of the sun's light. Each color has its own wavelength of light, and each person perceives color slightly differently, both visually and energetically.

It is estimated that the average person can see about 10 million levels of color at any one time. These colors and shades are altered by various conditions of light and surface reflection, creating an infinite variety of color that we can perceive in our world.

The infinite palette of colors available to us begin with the three primary colors of red, yellow and blue, which can be mixed to create the secondary colors of orange, green and purple. Add to these the shades of white or black, and the possibilities of color are perhaps limitless.

Pantone, which produces the "Pantone Matching System" for creating the paints, inks and dyes that color our world, currently offers a palette of 1,114 colors. They also provide a link to www.colorstrology.com - an interesting website that gives you the specific color for your birthday.

From my perspective, I correlate color with the energies and vibrations of the seven chakras or energy centers in the body, which correspond to the seven colors in the visible spectrum of a rainbow. I will describe these colors in terms of the vibration of energy that they create and attract. All colors can be considered lucky for attracting things that resonate on their particular frequency:

RED - Red is the color of the root chakra, which is at the base of the spine. This chakra is related to grounding, survival and connection to the earth and to the body. Red is the color of passion, but passion can also have its darker side of anger or rage. Red is the color of life-force, blood and passionate love. Gemstones that would carry this energy, supporting blood flow and assisting with blood conditions, and also inspiring and attracting passion would be Ruby and Garnet. Red could be considered a lucky color for attracting passion into your life (which may be why people are often attracted to red sports cars). For inspiring and attracting passion, red is best worn next to the skin, especially in lingerie. Red can give a person a feeling of primal power, but it can also instill an adversarial, gladiatorial or aggressive type of energy, like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

ORANGE - Orange is the color of the second chakra, which is a couple of inches below the navel. This is the energy center of creativity and sexuality. Orange became popular during the sexual revolution of the 1960's, a time that was also marked by great creativity and innovation. Orange could be considered a lucky color for attracting, creating and inspiring creativity. A gemstone that resonates on the frequency of orange would be Orange Topaz.

YELLOW - Yellow is the color of the third chakra, which is located in the solar plexus at the base of the rib cage (diaphragm area). This is the center of power in the body, and is the seat of confidence. Some philosophies consider this to be the heart of the soul in the body. The color yellow can be considered lucky for attracting and inspiring a sense of power and confidence, both within oneself and from others. It can be helpful to imagine a miniature sun in your solar plexus, and to put your right hand over this area like Napoleon whenever you need to feel a greater sense of confidence, power and centeredness. Yellow is also an uplifting color of joy that brings in the energy, light and power of the sun. Gemstones that would resonate at the frequency of yellow would be Amber, Citrine, and Yellow Topaz.

GREEN - Green is the color of the fourth chakra of the heart, which is the center of love and healing in the body. Ultimately, all things in creation are borne of love, so green might be considered the luckiest color for attracting whatever it is that you love. (The "luck of the Irish" may be attributed to the color green.) Green could also be considered a lucky color for healing. Gemstones that resonate at the vibration of green would be Emerald, Malachite, Peridot, and Jade (considered by people in Asia to be very lucky, particularly for health).
(Pink is also the color of the heart and of love, particularly of self-love and feminine love. The best stone for resonating at the frequency of pink is Rose Quartz.)

BLUE - Blue is the color of the fifth chakra of the throat, which is the center of self-expression. Blue is the color of truth and loyalty ("True Blue"), so blue could be considered a lucky color for attracting honesty, and for speaking one's truth. Gemstones that resonate on the frequency of blue would be Aquamarine, Blue Topaz, and Turquoise (considered by many First Nations people of the world to be a powerful and sacred stone).

INDIGO - Indigo is the color of the sixth chakra located in the third eye in the middle of the forehead. This is the center of intuition and psychic abilities such as clairvoyance. The third eye allows you to receive intuitive information from other people and from the world around you. The color indigo is a mixture between deep blue and purple, and it could be considered a lucky color for enhancing intuition, which in itself can increase one's "luck" and good fortune. Gemstones that resonate on this frequency would be Lapis Lazuli and dark Amethyst (both considered to be stones that enhance psychic abilities).

VIOLET - Violet is the color of the seventh chakra, called the crown chakra, located at the top of the head. This chakra connects us with our guides, with our Higher Self, and with Divine Guidance. Receiving this Divine Guidance can allow us to experience good fortune and the best of all things, so violet could be considered a lucky color for receiving such guidance. Gemstones that resonate on the frequency of violet are light Amethyst, Purple Jade, and some light Opals.

WHITE - Beyond the seven main chakras in the body are chakras in our etheric, emotional, mental and spirit bodies that are white. White is considered to contain the presence of all colors within its light frequency. White is the color of wisdom, purity and protection, and can be considered a lucky color to protect you. White deflects energy, just like it deflects the heat of the sun. It is therefore a protective energy, and is a natural color for nurses and doctors to wear to protect themselves from viral infection. White is great for purification, and it is good to light white candles to "clear the air" and energetically cleanse a space. Gemstones that resonate at the frequency of white light are Diamonds and Pearls.

BLACK - Black is the color of space, and is considered to be the absence of color, or the absence of light. Black absorbs energy, which is why it attracts the heat of the sun. People who are empathic should be cautious about wearing black, especially close to the heart, because it absorbs other people's energies. Black can be a comfortable and protective color for some people, making them feel grounded to the earth, and perhaps even a bit invisible. Gemstones that resonate on the frequency of black are Obsidian and Black Tourmaline (a good stone for protection and grounding while traveling).

GOLD - Gold is the color of the Divine, which is why paintings of saints are often depicted with golden halos. Gold is the color of wealth and prosperity, and of infinite riches and abundance. Gold is like the life's blood of the Earth, flowing from its molten core at the heart of the planet out to the skin of its crust. Gold is a very lucky color for attracting wealth and prosperity.

SILVER - Silver is the color of the Divine Feminine and holds the energy of the Goddess. Silver is a lucky color for attracting attention and expressing beauty.

Each shade of these colors will create a different vibration based on its specific wavelength of light. When working with color, choose what you would like to attract and experience, then use your intuition to choose which color and which shade feels luckiest for you with whatever intention you set for your day.

Luckily, the most important thing about luck is that it is directed by your thoughts, beliefs and intentions. The more you affirm that you are lucky, and the more you are grateful for every good fortune, the more blessed and fortunate you will be.
