OLD SOULS AND
THE WHEEL OF REINCARNATION
Question #1: "What are old and young souls? I think old souls are beings who return to Earth with wisdom to share. Are young souls individuals who have to return because they have not learned the lesson of a particular life? I believe I would be a young soul because it has taken most of this life to acquire some wisdom and so far I have not shared it very much."
Psychic Advice : Everything in this Universe was "born" at one time, and everything emerged from that One Light of consciousness, so in essence, everything is older than time. However, planets are born and planets die, suns are born and suns die, cells are born and cells die, and this cycle continues throughout the cosmos. The birth of a soul occurs at its moment of individuation, the moment that it begins its eternal journey to move away and back to Source once again, just as blood moves away and back to the heart.
Through this journey, the soul seeks to grow and evolve, to explore the Universe, to develop knowledge, experience, wisdom and power, and to return back to Oneness with Source. Different souls choose different experiences at different times and in different places. Not all souls incarnate on Earth, but those that do often get caught in the wheel of reincarnation, returning over and over again in order to learn lessons that can only be learned in the Earth school.
Some people believe that coming to Earth is some kind of punishment for not being evolved enough, and that the goal is to transcend this physical experience by attaining spirituality. The truth is that it is a privilege to come to Earth, where we have the power to create and to bring anything that we choose into third-dimensional reality. Souls earn the right to come to Earth, and must prove that they can be responsible and mature with this kind of power. We are meant to enjoy being physical on Earth as much as possible, and we are also designed to experience the full spectrum of human emotion, which does not exist on other planes where there is only love and bliss. We have all eternity to be spiritual beings, but we have the brief opportunity to grow and evolve in our wisdom through emotional and physical experiences on Earth.
This time on Earth is particularly important, and all eyes are watching to see what we collectively choose as the outcome for this planet. A battle is ensuing between the forces of duality, and we are all participants, playing for one team or another, and contributing to the score with each thought we think, every emotion that we feel, and every action we take. Every person is being accounted for and measured in this process, and the jury is not out as to which side will prevail. In fact, both will prevail, on one dimension or another. Because of the importance of this time on Earth, souls have been clamoring to come to this planet in order to weigh in, so to speak. This is why there are so many here at this time - more than ever before in the history of this planet. (Some of these are fragments of souls, which I will address in answering the next question.)
When souls first come to Earth, they often seek out a shorter or easier Earth incarnation, because coming into physical form and being born into this density is very challenging. It takes a great deal of strength and courage for a vast soul to be willing to come into a tiny body and be completely vulnerable and helpless for years. The process of forgetting all that one is and all that one knows, and then being treated like a child, adds to the daunting quality of the task. Many newer souls choose to be born with mental or physical "handicaps" or "challenges" so they can be taken care of through their first lifetime without having to bear the full brunt of human responsibility.
A soul may be new to Earth experience, but that does not necessarily mean that is a new soul. Souls can have many experiences on many planes before coming to have an Earth experience. Those souls who have come to Earth long ago have many experiences under their belt, and would be considered "old souls". However, when we refer to the age of a soul, we are often making reference to their level of wisdom, and wisdom does not necessarily come with age, it comes with experience. As in life, you can have a wise person who is twelve years old, and a ninety year old who is not wise. Wisdom comes from the growth and evolution that we choose to undergo through the experiences of each lifetime, as well as through the collective experiences of all of our lifetimes.
Just because you have only recently reawakened to your wisdom and consciousness does not mean that you are a young soul. Young souls often have a great sense of wonder, a great childlike sense of doing and seeing everything for the first time. They often carry an innocence or naiveté throughout their lives, and older souls can become impatient with them. Very old souls have been around the block several times, and will often feel old no matter what age they are - they often need rest, and can have challenges getting excited or inspired about things because they have seen and done it all before.
The reason that we all come back is because we have developed Earthly attachments. We have become trapped in this density and earthbound through issues of ego, karma, lack of forgiveness, or addiction. We come back lifetime after lifetime to grow and evolve as a soul through opportunities to develop greater love, compassion, patience, forgiveness, acceptance, and detachment. When we have healed all of our karmic attachments to other souls and to the Earth, then we are released from the cycle of incarnation, and we are free to come back again, or not, as we choose. The risk in coming back to Earth once one is free is that one can develop karmic and ego attachments once again that would serve to bind one back into the wheel of reincarnation.
Old souls may come to Earth to help, teach and guide others in the growth and evolution of their soul, but they can also come to Earth for their own purposes, such as learning their own life lessons, and clearing karma. Those who have not learned certain lessons or cleared karma in a particular lifetime will repeat those patterns in other lifetimes until they have grown and evolved beyond those issues. Right now, many old souls have the purpose of helping others to grow and evolve through love, compassion and forgiveness, because this is a pivotal and momentous time on Earth that affects the whole Universe. Each being who attains a state of love, peace, forgiveness and compassion raises the vibration and frequency for one and all.
Question #2: "They said in Ethiopia that it was just ONE SOUL in expression to open our heart and assist to wake us up. The count now is 6.5 billion on planet Earth, however, what is the truth of how many true souls [are] expressing for us?"
Psychic Advice : Each race has a collective oversoul, so there are essentially five oversouls on this planet at this time. However, as part of this great Earth experiment, these races have intermingled, with the goal being to create a new mixed race of humans that encompasses the best qualities of each race.
Long ago on Earth, souls lived for hundreds of years in one body. However, that became a limiting experience, so those souls chose to fragment and be born simultaneously in many forms throughout different times and places on Earth in order to grow and evolve at a faster pace through a variety of Earth experiences.
All of the souls who sacrifice themselves through suffering and tragedy do so to serve their own growth and evolution, as well as the growth and evolution of all of humanity. Each person who feels compassion for another raises the vibration of the human collective - this is also true for those who embrace forgiveness, love, acceptance, peace, etc. Conversely, each person who feels hatred, resentment, rage and prejudice lowers the vibration of the collective consciousness on Earth.
Ultimately, we are all One - we are made of the same substance of the Earth and of each other. When we love each other, we love ourselves, and when we harm each other, we harm ourselves. In essence, there is only One, and we are like the cells and blood vessels in that body, being born and dying in the cycle of life, leaving the heart to nourish the body, and returning to the heart to replenish ourselves.
