Question: "Why is 2012 significant?"

Psychic Advice: What is most significant about the year 2012 is the date of December 21, 2012, which is not only the Winter Solstice, it is also the day that the Mayan Calendar suddenly comes to an end and resets to 0.0.0.0. This marks the end of the 5th Mayan Age of 5,125 years, and also marks the completion of a 25,625 year cycle in the Mayan Long Count. It is believed that on this date in 2012, our planet will be in alignment with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, and perhaps with a Great Central Sun within it.

The 2012 Mayan prophecies refer to this date as the end of time, but many have interpreted this as the Mayan 2012 end of the world predictions.  I do not believe that 2012 is the end of life on this planet, it just may be the end of life as we know it. In many ways, this has already begun. Climate change and economic crises have already forced many people to change their lives and the way they live. This is part of the preparation for 2012.

The 2012 planet alignment opens a galactic doorway that can free many souls from the wheel of reincarnation on Earth. Eons ago, Earth was a place where souls could come from all over the galaxy to experience the power of third dimensional reality and manifestation, then return home. It was an amusement park, of sorts. But suddenly, the galactic doorway closed and souls became trapped on Earth. Through karma, souls were intended to purify themselves, to become lighter and more enlightened through death and reincarnation, until such time as they could ascend and return "home" once again.

December 21, 2012 is an opportunity for global ascension, but only for those who raise their consciousness and release their earthly attachments. This is why so many people are being forced to let go right now, so they can reconnect with spirit and rise above the material plane. It is a great challenge, but we do have help. However, sometimes this help comes in the form of painful catalysts, such as global financial crisis, natural disasters, and other seemingly catastrophic phenomena.

There are those who believe in the 2012 end of the world prediction of a polar shift, or of the reduction of the Earth's magnetic field, or of a great meteor or asteroid colliding with the Earth. Many believe that global warming, the extinction of species, weather manipulation, over-fishing, oil plundering and incessant wars are leading us into a global apocalypse. That may be the reality that some are creating for themselves, but it does not have to be the reality for all. There is a way to rise above, and to manifest and experience a much higher frequency. 

The ancient Mayans were not primitive people - the Mayan Calendar was based on the fact that they were advanced astronomers with detailed knowledge of the stars and the heavens, and they were also excellent mathematicians. The Mayans had strong traditions of healing, and understood mysticism at profound levels that are lost to most of us today. One of the tools that the Mayans used for healing and divination purposes were crystal skulls - many have misinterpreted crystal skulls as being symbolic of death, when in fact they were symbolic of life and consciousness itself. Crystal skulls were often used in rituals relating to fertility and prosperity. It has also been said that shamans would transfer their wisdom and knowledge into a crystal skull at the time of their death in order to pass on this wisdom to their successors. Perhaps the ancients have left us clues for how to navigate and survive the times ahead stored within the crystal skulls.

Quartz crystal is a source of power and energy. Much of our modern world is powered by quartz crystal: lasers, radios, cell phones, watches, ultrasound, etc. Quartz not only powers computers, it also stores information. A small chip of quartz holds vast amounts of memory in a computer - just imagine what a crystal skull weighing 10 or 20 pounds could contain!

Crystal skulls have been resurfacing throughout the Mayan regions of Mesoamerica, and have been linked with the Mayan Prophecies, especially relating to 2012. Indigenous people around the world have ancient legends about 13 crystal skulls coming together to raise the consciousness of mankind - these legends are shared by the Mayans, the Navajo and the Tibetans.

Crystal skulls are thought to hold the blueprint of the perfected consciousness of mankind. They are believed to purify the mind and to have powerful healing properties. They allow one to connect with higher consciousness and to raise one's consciousness. The awareness of crystal skulls and their energy seems to be re-emerging and spreading around the globe in an attempt to raise the consciousness and the frequency of humanity - they may be the 2012 gatekeepers that can assist us in our ascension process throughout the 2012 planet alignment.
