STAR POWER

Question: "Not everyone makes it in the music industry. Do rock stars have a predisposition to their fame?"

"Psychic Advice":
It takes very special energy to be a star, whether that is in the music industry, acting, sports, or in any other area. A person can be predestined for fame, fortune and success in any field, but there are many factors that can affect whether a person actually fulfills his/her destiny or not.

Talent alone does not guarantee that a person will become truly successful. Perhaps the most important qualities to have are passion and determination, because the fields of music, acting, sports, writing, etc. are full of rejection and disappointment. The pursuit of success in these fields often requires relentless commitment, and never taking "no" for an answer. Madonna once said, "I know I'm not the greatest singer or dancer, but that doesn't interest me, I'm interested in being provocative and pushing people's buttons." Her determination to do that has made her one of the most famous people in the world.

One of the things that sets stars apart from other people is that they truly shine brightly, like stars. They have an aura that radiates light, which makes them extremely attractive. They also tend to have light shining in their eyes, and radiant smiles that are warm and alluring. Many stars are not really that good looking if you were to look at them closely, but they emit light and charisma that we find irresistibly attractive.

It also takes a very strong and healthy ego to handle being a star - and to survive being famous (people who seek an "ego-less path" rarely desire fame). The ego must be able to handle a great deal of attention, adoration and criticism. Those who can't stand these pressures often succumb to addiction and substance abuse, which are some of the perils and pitfalls of being in the arena of fame.

People can sabotage their success at any point along their path of destiny, because Free Will can override destiny. Free Will is so powerful that if a person fears success more than they want it, even if they are destined to be tremendously successful, they can sabotage and impede their own success at any time. Some people avoid their destiny before they reach success and fame, while others sabotage their success after attaining fame.

Just as we have shooting stars in the sky, stardom can also be temporary and transitory for some. There are many "one-hit-wonders" and "has-beens" who have experienced a moment in the spotlight, only to discover how fleeting and fickle fame can be.

Our society also seems to get a great thrill out of putting people up on pedestals, only to try to knock them off these pedestals and scrutinize their downfall as some perverse form of entertainment. Stars are ordinary people who may have extraordinary talent, or an extraordinary destiny, but they are still human and are therefore perfectly imperfect, just like the rest of us. Expecting perfection of anyone will only lead to disappointment.

Stars are both born and made. A person can be born gifted, but those gifts must be nurtured and encouraged. As soon as a person discovers that they have a talent, they must make it their passion and devote their time and energy to it wholeheartedly. Halfhearted efforts will rarely get anyone anywhere, no matter how good they are at something. In order to become a star in any given area, that talent must be pursued almost obsessively.

One of the things that can either support or destroy a person's chances of success is self-esteem. If you value yourself and what you have to offer, other people will see your value as well. Most of our communication with other people is non-verbal - whether we realize it or not, we are constantly picking up on other people's energies. When a person presents an air of confidence, we tend to find that very attractive, because it exudes power; however, arrogance is not particularly attractive because it actually covers feelings of inferiority.

If a person has experienced a great deal of criticism and judgment, particularly in childhood, then the ego and self-esteem can get damaged, making it challenging for that person to experience true success later in life. Constant criticism of children is a form of abuse, because it breaks the child's spirit. These children will often grow to be adults who have bad posture, who bow their head, who don't shine their light around them and who no longer have a spark of light coming out of their eyes. It takes a great deal of diligence and commitment to heal damaged self-esteem and self-worth, but it is absolutely possible. Without a strong sense of self-esteem and self-worth, it can be difficult to attain success or fame.

There are those who have experienced terrible judgment in their early years who still manage to fulfill their destiny of success. These people often have characteristics of being rebellious, vengeful, or absolutely stubborn. They maintain their sense of their own talents, abilities and self-worth in the face of the criticism they endured, and can tend to have an "I'll show you" type of attitude that drives them to succeed and prove themselves despite the opinions of others.

Those who are nurtured and encouraged to develop their gifts and talents often have the easiest time creating success for themselves. Because they believe in themselves, others are attracted to their confidence and their light, even if they are not necessarily the most talented people. However, if someone is pushed to do something that is not really in their heart, they may be technically perfect at it, but will never have the passion to truly succeed in that area.

It helps if you have outstanding talent, but being a star really requires that you stand out - that you shine brightly as "one-in-a-million". In order to be a star in any field, you must first visualize that you have light shining all around you that is irresistibly attractive, and you must see yourself shining brightly, like a star in the sky. Fill your heart with passion for what you love to do, then fill your heart with love for all the people of the world that you want to touch and share your love, light and gifts with. See that love and light shining from your heart, shining from your eyes and from your smile, and radiating all around you wherever you go, and you will fulfill your destiny to be the star that you are in your chosen field.
