"MANAGING PSYCHIC ABILITIES":
"PSYCHIC ABILITIES WITHIN DREAMS"
Question: "I am 13 years old. I have had some experiences with some 'visions' or however you want to say it. I would dream something then wake up and it would happen. What really freaked me out is that I dreamed part of the movie 'The Eye' for two nights and I woke up tossing and turning and very exhausted all the time. Can you tell me what this is? I also know the answer to something if someone asks me. What is really weird is that I have mental images in my mind, but I go blank for half a minute or so. Can you please tell me what this is and how to control it?"
Psychic Advice:
Managing psychic abilities can be a bit challenging when you first experience them. It is often easiest for us to experience psychic abilities within dreams because we are most open and relaxed in the dream state, therefore our consciousness is more receptive to intuitive guidance and psychic visions or messages.
In order to develop your psychic abilities within dreams, it is a good idea to keep a dream journal in which you write down all the dreams you can remember each morning upon awakening. Psychic abilities become stronger the more you pay attention to them, and writing down your experiences will assist you in managing psychic abilities.
Keep your dream journal next to your bed so you can write your dreams down the minute you wake up, recording the date of the dream. Do not try too hard to chase your dreams, or you will push them away. Allow yourself to relax, close your eyes, and let the dream come to you. As you write down the parts of the dreams that you can remember, close your eyes again and let more and more pieces come to you until you fill in as much of the dream as you can. It is also a good idea to write your dreams down throughout the night whenever you are awakened, so you might want to keep a penlight or book light next to your bed so you don't have to wake up fully.
Dreams can take many forms and serve many purposes. Our dreams often allow our subconscious mind to process whatever is going on in our life, and to work out certain issues within ourselves and with others. Dreams can also allow our subconscious mind to communicate with our conscious mind through dream symbols - to interpret these symbols, you can imagine that you are that symbol, then determine what that symbol means to you.
We can also experience psychic abilities within dreams, such as astral travel or astral projection. Many people travel out of their body while they sleep, and often dream of flying, or being with other people they don't know in faraway places. This allows the soul to be free of the constraints of the body and the third dimension while the body rests and repairs itself during sleep. Some souls take the opportunity to meet with their council of guides during the dreamtime to plan for what's ahead in order to carry out their mission and purpose. (During my dreams, I often do psychic readings for people I've never met and I am certain that I am truly connecting with their consciousness to offer them guidance, service and support on their path through this process as part of my mission and purpose.)
Those who travel outside the body during sleep can often feel somewhat uncomfortable and ungrounded upon awakening, especially if they've been startled awake by an alarm clock, which causes them to "crash land" back in the body. If you astral travel during sleep, when you awaken it is best to imagine that you are stepping fully into your body, putting it on like a bodysuit, then plant both feet firmly on the ground when you first get out of bed. This will allow you to feel more grounded and at home in your body throughout the day.
Those who experience psychic abilities within dreams, such as prophetic dreams or dreams that come true (also known as precognitive dreams or premonitions), are tapping into the collective consciousness and higher dimensions of consciousness while they sleep. During the dreamtime, there aren't the distractions of the waking world, and our conscious mind cannot exert as much control, so the unconscious mind is free to tap into higher consciousness and divine guidance. When you find that something you dreamed has happened, record that in your dream journal, along with the date that it happened. If your dreams are giving you a warning about something for yourself or others, pay attention to that message and consider gently sharing it with those whom it pertains to - it is better to be safe than sorry.
You can program your dreams to some extent (although you may not always be able to direct prophetic dreams). Before you go to bed, you can think of a question or an issue very strongly, repeating it several times, and perhaps writing it down. You can affirm, "I will remember my dreams" by stating this aloud three times while gently rubbing your third eye in the middle of your forehead. Be willing to wake up and write down whatever dreams you have, and see how they respond to the question or issue.
What we think about or experience before we go to sleep definitely affects our psyche and our dreams. That is why it is not a good idea to watch the news or violent programs before going to bed. As your psychic abilities within dreams and in your waking consciousness increase, you become more sensitive to certain images, and may need to avoid things like horror movies altogether. It is always a good idea to imagine that you are surrounded by a thick bubble of white light that protects you while you sleep - you can also call upon angels of love and light to watch over you and protect you through the night.
With regard to knowing the answer to something that someone asks you, it is important to remember that whenever a question is asked, the Universe provides an answer. Most people just don't pay attention to receiving that answer. Everyone has the ability to receive answers to their questions, if they are willing to be open to receiving intuitive guidance. Once they ask the question, they must then pay attention to all the signs, symbols and messages that their guidance provides.
Managing psychic abilities such as these requires patience and practice, which are required for developing any skill or ability. You have strong psychic abilities that are developing naturally. The reason that you are experiencing momentary blankness in your mind is because your guidance is creating a blank screen in your third eye in which to project images and information.
Managing psychic abilities that involve visions requires learning to see in a new way. It is often easiest to see clairvoyant visions with your eyes closed so you can see these images on the screen of your mind. Alternatively, you can stare off into space, or look for a blank white patch of wall or something that will act like a blank screen so your mind can project the information you need.
More people are now experiencing psychic abilities within dreams and within their waking state because we are learning to embrace and accept intuition within the collective consciousness once again. Ancient societies relied on visions and psychic dreams to guide them and protect them. Our modern society is at a point where we must come together to make important choices for the future of humanity and the Earth within the collective consciousness. We are learning to connect to each other more and more at an intuitive level, and to connect to our own divine guidance - experiencing psychic abilities within dreams is part of that.
