"IS IT OBVIOUS WHEN
YOU HAVE MET YOUR SOUL MATE?"

Question #1: "I have been corresponding with a gentleman for the past three months. I have since met him in person. Over this time, we have become very close in every way. Is it possible to fall in love with someone who lives so far away from you and have only met once? Is it possible that we two are soul mates from another lifetime? Is it possible to feel his closeness even over the miles, almost spiritually? We may never meet again on this physical plane, yet we are as ONE. Together we are walking our own "secret" path, led by love and light. We are both in our 60's now, and I don't feel it is a foolish idea of 'wishful thinking' on either part. The more I ask these questions, and the more we talk, the more I feel confident that we are meant to be. Is this wrong? Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions you may have."

How can you tell if you have found your soul mate? There are soul mate indicators that can help you know if you are soul mates. Usually, when you first meet your soul mate, there is a feeling of calm, of being comfortable with that person right away. There is often a sense of having known that person forever, because you have known each other before. There is a feeling of instant recognition, particularly when you see each other's eyes for the first time, because the eyes are the windows to the soul.

Once you connect with your soul mate, soul mate relationships can progress very quickly, because it is like catching up with an old friend that you haven't seen for a long time. Usually, you will have many things in common and similar interests, particularly with regard to places in the world, certain cultures or periods in history. Communicating with a soul mate is often quite effortless - you may not even need to actually speak because there is such a profound meeting of the minds that much of the communication can be telepathic.

Soul mates long to simply be together - they don't even have to do anything, they just desire to bask in each other's energy and commune as kindred spirits. Soul mates don't have to be physically attracted to one another, because the basis of a soul mate relationship is a spiritual attraction that has endured over many lifetimes.

It is important to remember that time and space are simply illusions. We are spirits inhabiting a physical body, having a physical experience during a particular moment in time. The truth is that we are multidimensional beings who are omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient, therefore we are having infinite life experiences on many planes at the same time.

A soul mate is a soul with whom we have connected on many other planes, in many other times, often playing different roles for one another. Some life circumstances allow us to be together as life partners, while other circumstances make this more challenging, and sometimes impossible. Some soul mates find themselves in a lifetime where they are both the same sex, and although they may not be homosexual, they can feel compelled to be together.

Soul mates continue to commune and connect with one another on the spiritual plane, whether or not they are able to be together in the physical. Time and distance do not affect soul mate relationships, because soul mates know that they will be together at one time or another. Once you have connected with your soul mate, you will feel close to that person no matter how much physical distance there may be between you. It is never too late to meet your soul mate, and once you have reconnected, you will always feel that sense of connection, even if the longing endures across the miles or the years.

Question #2: "Please help me, Grace. I feel like I am in limbo. I kissed someone some months ago. I have never had such strong feelings for anyone before, after just one kiss. I can't stop thinking about him, I feel like he is my soul mate. He felt the same way as I did, but we are both married, so we decided not to take it any further. The problem is I feel I can't move on, he is all I dream about. Will I ever get over him and how can I make my marriage work?"

Many people ask "Is there an instant attraction when you meet your soul mate?" The answer is yes, but it is a different kind of attraction that we feel with a soul mate. Soul mates often recognize one another when they see each other's eyes, which creates an instant feeling of peace and calm. This is very different from the physical or chemical attraction that we often feel when we meet someone new, which is exciting and makes our pulse race. Soul mate relationships are not necessarily passionate.

We can have more than one soul mate, because we have experienced many different soul connections over many different lifetimes. We don't always get to be in an intimate love relationship with our soul mate because we have sacred contracts with each other to play different roles in different lifetimes, such as siblings, parents, teachers, etc., but sometimes we can be lovers, partners and spouses with our soul mate.

The kind of response that you describe from the kiss you experienced feels more like a chemical/electrical attraction than one that would be typical with a soul mate. It feels like this experience awakened you sexually because there has been some kind of lull in your relationship with your husband. You can focus your energy on trying to reignite the spark of passion with your husband by reawakening your feelings of sexuality and desire, and directing them toward him. If you and the other man are truly meant to be together, you will both feel the truth of that in your hearts - otherwise, be grateful to him for being your "Prince Charming" awakening you from sleep-walking through your life.
