SOUL GROUPS AND SACRED CONTRACTS
Are there soul groups? Do some beings reconnect with former connections (like family or friends) from Earth?
Yes, we each have soul groups that form part of our soul family. We will reincarnate with different members of our soul group over and over again, often in different roles and circumstances. Many times, those in our soul group will incarnate as members of the family who raised us, or the family we create for ourselves, or even our friends, teachers and helpers. Those in our soul group are there to support us to grow and evolve as souls, and to help us carry out our mission, our purpose, and our sacred contracts.
Before we incarnate, we determine what we need to learn next in order for our soul to grow and evolve, and what kinds of circumstances and experiences will be necessary to offer opportunities for that kind of growth. We then create a plan with our guides that would allow us to learn and grow in that way, and carry out any other mission or purpose that we intend for that particular lifetime. (In the course of a psychic reading, I can access information about what your mission, purpose and sacred contracts are.)
The challenge is that being born on Earth involves passing through a veil that causes us to forget all that we are, all that we know, and all that we intend to do in this lifetime. This is all part of the learning process at this time. However, if we were born into a society that was spiritually awake and aware, parents would communicate with babies in the womb and after birth by saying: "remember who you are, remember all you know and all you have learned, remember why you are here, and remember God". One can do this simply by saying these words to a baby, particularly when the baby is sleeping, or just before or after sleep. It is best to start this process as early as possible as it is most effective in a child up to two years of age (but it is never too late to benefit from these affirmations at any time in life).
It is important to remember that children are here to teach us, and that your child has a sacred contract with you, so listen carefully to what that child tells you and you will learn a great deal. A parent's role is to guide and teach a child, keeping that child safe and helping that child to develop a healthy ego identity through a strong sense of self-esteem and self-love - this must be done with love. A child's role is to heal and teach its parents (in the case of adoption, to heal and teach the birth parents as well as the adoptive parents). A child also offers opportunities for the growth and evolution of the parent's soul through unconditional love and acceptance. This is all part of the sacred contract between parents and children, but it can be challenging when there are karmic issues involved, which I shall address in next week's column.
Because we must pass through the veil of forgetting, we are born with a team of guides who help us to carry out our life plan that we agreed to before incarnating into this lifetime. Some of our guides will be members of our soul group, others will be teachers who specialize in certain areas, and others will be guardians and angels to serve, help and protect us. When we arrive on Earth, we will also encounter other members of our soul group who may be incarnated as some of the members of our family, as well as some of our friends and loved ones, or helpful people on our path. Not all members of our family or friends are part of our soul group - you will recognize members of your soul group because you will have a sense of having known them forever (because you have known them forever!). When we encounter a member of our soul group in an intimate relationship, we will call this a "soul mate", however, there is often more than one soul mate available for you depending on how many members of your soul group have incarnated (soul groups can be very large).
There are several reasons that we incarnate with members of our soul group. The most important reason is that we create sacred contracts with members of our soul group (and with others) in order to carry out certain intentions for growth and learning in a given lifetime. Those with whom we have sacred contracts will trigger unconscious memories of what we came here for, and will often help us to carry out our mission and purpose.
We also incarnate with members of our soul group in order to be supported in our various earthly experiences. Throughout our soul's journey, we must experience all facets of existence in order to fully grow and evolve, therefore we play all different roles on Earth. Some of these roles may be painful or awful, and may involve a great deal of suffering, so we incarnate with members of our soul group to help and support us through these lifetimes. Members of our soul group may also present us with certain challenges or obstacles, so that we may learn compassion, unconditional love, forgiveness, patience or acceptance. These are the types of lessons that we are here to learn in order for our soul to grow and evolve, and those with whom we have sacred contracts or karmic bonds offer us opportunities to receive these gifts.
What makes all of this particularly challenging is that we made our life plan from a place where we can feel only bliss, and where pain and suffering is merely a concept - a means for growth and experience, but not felt or experienced as a reality. Because of this, we choose lifetimes of starving in Africa, of going to war, or being in a brothel, etc., because it will give us the greatest opportunity to grow and evolve as a soul. But then, we come into a body in those situations, and we feel the pain, and we wonder what we ever did to deserve this (we will discuss in another column how and why such choices are made, and how the choices you make in this life determine your experiences in future lifetimes).
Another factor that affects our sacred contracts and whether or not we carry out our mission and purpose is that of Free Will. On Earth, we are given the great gift of Free Will and choice. This allows us to choose moment by moment what we will experience in this life (and ultimately in the next life). We can choose to override our mission and purpose, usually because of fear. This is what can happen when two soul mates meet, but one decides not to carry out the sacred contract of the relationship. This can be devastating to the one who was counting on the relationship for this lifetime, but there may be other soul mates available (and it is not necessary that your life partner is a soul mate; sometimes soul mates can feel like siblings because they are part of your soul family, and the relationship can therefore lack passion).
Free Will gives us the power of choice as to what we do and with whom. Because of Free Will, the future is never absolute - it is always based on probability because it can change at any time simply by choice. The positive aspect of this is that we all affect the future with our choices in the present, and therefore, we can all change the future if we choose to. The downside is that we can choose to avoid our destiny and our sacred contracts, which not only affects our own future, but also those with whom we have these contracts. However, if we choose not to carry out our sacred contract with another, it still gives that other soul the opportunity to grow and evolve through forgiveness, patience, compassion, love, etc., and therefore it is still a gift. The beauty is that reincarnation gives us countless opportunities to grow and evolve together on our soul's journey.
The bonds of karma are different than sacred contracts. In next week's column, we will address karma, and how and why it bonds us to others lifetime after lifetime.
