THE LIGHT AND DARK SIDE
OF THE SPIRIT WORLD
Sometimes we think of ghosts as evil. I think generally they aren't, however they may be scary. I wonder if there are actually evil spirits? Is it possible that those that contributed to evil (as in torture, murder, and other psycho and sociopathic behavior) have an essence that continues on after them, or returns in a spirit form?
Everything continues on in spirit form. Everything is spirit, which is eternal. We all pass from one level of existence to another. Those whose spirits become trapped between this world and the next are what we refer to as "ghosts". Ghosts exist because they do not realize that they are dead and have passed on to another plane, and they are afraid. This often occurs when death is sudden and traumatic, or when there is a great deal of attachment to the physical life, or an inordinate fear of death. Death is normally a peaceful journey into the Light, but when a spirit is traumatized, it can become stuck between life and the afterlife. Often spirits will be stuck in the place where they died, or in a place they loved, or with loved ones. They are not evil, but are lost and afraid, and sometimes angry or upset. They can often try to do whatever is in their power to get people's attention, which can frighten people, although it is merely a cry for help. They don't understand what has happened to them, and they don't know how to move on, but there are people who specialize in helping such souls to move on to the next plane.
The choices that one makes during a lifetime have consequences - both positive and negative, that carry on beyond this lifetime. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, because all is in balance in this Universe. The power of choice is a great gift, and with it comes great responsibility. We do not make these choices alone - we have a team of advisors in our spirit guides and angels, but we make the final decisions, because we have the gift of Free Will. This allows us to make infinite choices throughout our lives - choices that impact not only our own lives, but also the lives of others, and even our own death (and possibly the deaths of others as well).
The key thing is that the more one makes positive choices, the more one is supported by positive guidance in the form of positive guides and angels. The more one feels joy and peace, the more one is supported and guided to create experiences that bring more joy and peace. This is because like vibration and energy attracts like vibration and energy. The same is true of negativity. The more one makes negative choices, the more one attracts those guides who thrive in the negative polarity: negative guides and negative angels, or demons (the word "demon" comes from the Greek word "daimon" which meant "divine power, fate, god"; it was used in Greek myths as a term for a minor deity, and it was also applied to a "guiding spirit"). They will encourage more and more negative choices that create negative emotions and vibrations, because this is what these negative entities thrive on.
Peace and joy are constant energies, which can be mistaken for boredom; it is like sitting in a bathtub of hot water - once you get used to it, it doesn't feel so hot anymore. Negative experiences create bursts of energy, like a "high" from drugs. These are not true highs because they are not of a high vibration, and will crash into a low that invites the desire for a high again. Positive power is gentle, loving and peaceful; negative power can be enticing and tempting because it creates a rush.
Negative guides or demons are very powerful because we give them our power, and so we feel powerless and succumb to temptation and addiction. It is difficult to take power back from them, because they continue to prod, knowing one's weaknesses. You cannot fight them, and you cannot fight addictions, because negativity only feeds negativity. You must choose love and light instead. You must remember that you always have the power of choice. No one can take this from you, because God has given you Free Will. You always have power over your thoughts and choices, and the more you choose positive thoughts, emotions and energies, the more you attract positive guides and repel negative ones. This is how you reclaim your power, and this is how you redeem your soul.
The challenge is that negative experiences, particularly in childhood, create negative emotions, which over time will attract negative guides. These negative guides thrive on negativity, and so they will do everything in their power to promote it and create it. They thrive on destruction, pain, suffering and torment. There are many factors that contribute to a person becoming a sociopath, a psychopath, a sadist, etc. The key thing that is missing in these people is compassion - the ability to feel what another person is feeling and to care about that other person. This is often because they have been terribly hurt and wounded, and denied love and compassion themselves. In order to heal this, and to heal the negativity in our society, we must feel love and compassion for them, not judge them. Remember that negativity feeds negativity, and positive energy is the antidote to the poison of negativity that is an epidemic on this Earth.
Most people are positive, loving people. There is no good or bad, these are just judgments, because everything simply is. We are all capable of all things, we just make different choices. What is good in one culture may be bad in another - these are simply judgments. Only God can judge, and God does not judge, because it is all one and the same, and must be kept in balance. Evil is LIVE spelled backwards, so therefore anything that is anti-life is evil. However, there are positive and negative forces in the Universe - there is darkness and there is light. Do not be quick to judge, for you shall be both on the journey of your soul - you have been all things and you will be all things, for you are part of all that is.
Judgment itself is just as negative as the negativity that you would choose to judge. The very act of judgment would have you becoming what you judge in another, at one time or another, in this lifetime or another. The key is to love and accept all things. Do you only love and accept the day but despise the night? No. There is as much beauty in the darkness of the night sky as there is in the light of day. Just as with the symbol of the Yin/Yang, where there is light there is also darkness, and where there is darkness there is also light. We live by day and by night, we are the dark and we are the light.
