ESP = Extra Sensory Perception
What is ESP?
ESP, or Extra Sensory Perception, is another term for intuition. Intuition employs all of the five known senses in a heightened way to deliver information. It is most common to receive intuitive impressions through the three senses of seeing, hearing and feeling, but psychic abilities can involve any combination of the five senses. Some people will employ several intuitive abilities in varying degrees of strength and preference. For example, I am first an empath (feeling), then clairaudient (hearing), and then clairvoyant (seeing). During the course of a reading, I will receive information on all three levels, sometimes simultaneously. I have also been known to receive psychic information through scent, and even through taste, but these are less common. Intuition is also known as the "sixth sense", which is a sense of inner knowing.
What is an empath?
A clairsentient person is often referred to as being an empath, or being empathic. Clairsentience is the French word for "clear feeling" and is also known as empathy. The clairsentient person is able to feel what others feel, either physically or emotionally, or both. A clairsentient person can also pick up energy or vibrations from places or things, and can receive a great deal of intuitive information from touching a person, or an object. (The art of receiving psychic information from objects is known as psychometry.) Empaths are often very sensitive individuals, and many people are empathic without even knowing it. These people will often suddenly feel differently the moment they step into a room, especially if there are people in it. They will often say that a place feels cozy or creepy, or that they don't feel comfortable with a certain person. It is very important to trust these feelings as they are a very important way that intuition uses to communicate.
If a person hears voices, does that mean they’re psychic or just crazy?
The ability to hear intuitive messages is known as clairaudience, which is a French word for "clear hearing”. These auditory messages can come in the form of words, names, phrases or sentences. They can often sound like the clairaudient's own voice, or have a different sound; they can be loud or soft, and will often speak of things that the clairaudient person has no way of knowing, or even words whose meaning or definition is unknown to the clairaudient. There are some cases where hearing voices can indicate some form of mental disorder, but these voices are often angry, judgmental or paranoid. The intuitive voice will always be loving and kind, will never scold you or criticize you, and always wants to support you and those you love.
When someone says they are clairvoyant, what does this mean?
Clairvoyance is a French word meaning "clear seeing " and it refers to the ability to receive intuitive impressions and messages in a visual form - or simply, to “see visions”. These visions can pertain to the past, present, or future, and can be different for every clairvoyant. Some people see in color while others see in black and white, some see moving or static images, or symbols which must be interpreted. Some clairvoyants see spirits, some see premonitions or visions of the future, and some see the field of energy that surrounds people that is called the aura.
What does it take to become a professional psychic?
I believe that becoming a professional psychic is a Calling, it becomes one’s mission and purpose to use this gift to help others. The signs and messages will be very strong that this is the path that one must take, and it is not to be taken lightly. There is a sacred trust and a great responsibility involved in assisting and guiding others. Many people enter into this field for the wrong reasons and can lead others astray with their lack of integrity. When seeking to give guidance to, or receive it from another person, remember to always trust yourself first and follow only what feels true and comfortable for you. I believe that everyone can access intuitive information, just as anyone can draw a picture or throw a ball; however, some people are extremely gifted in art or sports, and they become professional artists or athletes, just as some intuitives are extremely gifted and become professional psychics. As with art and sports, training, practice and passion go a long way toward taking a natural gift and developing it into a true expertise. It is always best to use your intuition to better your own life and not give intuitive guidance to anyone else, unless you receive a strong and clear message to do so. Each person must find and follow his/her own truth, and each person must be responsible for his/her own decisions.
I offer a five minute meditation recordings for developing intuition which incorporates the visualization that I use in my work to access and attune to higher guidance
