SPIRITUAL CONNECTION AND TELEPATHY

Question: "I have heard voices since I was young, but they are not the voices of the dead or even voices that signify mental illness. I hear voices of living people, usually friends or family. I usually hear them very clearly, even enough to hear the exact phrase and tone. Even if I do not hear the exact wording I sense what they are saying. My question is, is this usual and what exactly does this mean? I don't hear 'advice' or even 'warnings'. I just hear snippits of conversation. Almost every time this has happened, the person I 'heard' was speaking about exactly what I heard them speaking about at the time that I 'heard' them. Almost never the phrases that I heard, but the subject matter is correct."

Psychic Advice:
What you are describing is called telepathy, which is mind-to-mind communication also known as mind reading. It is not usual for most people, but it could be. The Universe communicates through telepathy, and so do animals. Man is the only creature that does not regularly use this innate sense.

It is widely known that twins exhibit telepathic connections; some twins can even be slower to develop speech because they have such an effective way of communicating with each other mentally. Language is not really an advanced form of communication. If you have ever listened to someone speaking a language that you do not understand, it is easy to recognize that spoken language is really just a series of grunts and tones that allow certain groups of people to communicate with each other based on the accepted decoding of these particular grunts and tones. The big problem with language is that it is often open to interpretation and misunderstanding.

Telepathy is direct communication. Telepathy can often be in the form of images or symbols. Animals communicate in this type of visual language, so if you don't want your dog on the couch or your cat on the kitchen counter, then don't think about the couch or the counter when instructing them. Instead, visualize your pet doing exactly what you would like and what would make you happy, then send them that mental picture. Both domestic and wild animals can pick up on thoughts and energies, so it is important to set clear intentions around them.

The Universe also communicates telepathically, giving us messages through dreams, visions, symbols, and also audible messages, like Joan of Arc hearing voices from God. We all have this gift available to us to varying degrees. What most people do not realize is that telepathy is two-way communication, and  the Universe is constantly reading our mind also. This is why working with visualization and affirmation is so important, because it sends a clear message to the Universe about what you want to manifest. If you do not have a clear focus and intention, then the Universe reads your thoughts and delivers your reality in response to your mental chatter, which is often based on fears, worries, judgments, etc.

The type of telepathic communication that you are describing is typically known as "mind reading". You are able to hear the thoughts of those you care about as they are formulating those thoughts in their mind. Many people do not say exactly what they are thinking, so what comes out of their mouth is often edited or censored. You are hearing the thoughts that precede the words.

Essentially, your mind is attuned to the wavelength and frequency of the thoughts of your friends and family. It is not uncommon for there to be mental telepathy between siblings because of their close bond and connection. Your mind is receiving this information as if you are a radio picking up radio waves.

This type of information is all around us all the time. We are surrounded by radio waves, and other waves and frequencies of energy that are emitted by all things. Some people receive this information unintentionally, and can have the psychic experience of hearing voices or musical messages. My college roommate always picked up the phone before it rang - she could sense the vibration of the phone call, and often knew who was calling.

One can learn how to get telepathic powers, and how to hone and direct them. Most people can develop this gift with a bit of practice, although not everyone will be able to do it with your degree of clarity since you began in childhood. The best way to learn how to start reading people's minds is to play with it in a fun way.

As part of a beginners guide to learning telepathy, you will need a partner who is willing to experiment with you. You can use a deck of ESP cards, and send each other telepathic messages about whether it is a star, a circle, a square, 3 wavy lines, or a + sign - these are the five "Zener" symbols . You can both practice sending and receiving telepathically, and work with sending the image as well as the word. You can also use random numbers and perform the same experiment - start with single digit numbers, then work up to double-digits, etc. You can do this in the same room, and as you get better at it, you can try it from different rooms and at greater distances.

Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, performed personal telepathic experiments from space with people on Earth during his 1971 lunar mission, unbeknownst to NASA. Here are some of the things he has said about telepathy: "As far as we know, it doesn't take any expertise at all, except relaxation and focus, and the ability of individuals to intuitively resonate with someone else." "The question was whether the effect fell off with distance, and the answer is no. People had thought this, but no one had ever proved it at distances of hundreds of thousands of miles." "In telepathy, space doesn't matter. Now we understand this very well, and we have the science now to show exactly how it works. It has nothing to do with space and time. It is what we call non-local communication."

Future advances in telepathy may owe a great deal to Edgar Mitchell's original telepathy experiment from space: "My experiment involved four transmission sessions during rest periods programmed into the flight. The well-known experiment in the laboratory was to use cards with the five Zener symbols, but the actual cards aren't important. It was easier for me to use random number tables than carry the physical cards. Instead, all I did was to generate four tables of 25 random numbers just using the numbers 1 to 5. Then I randomly assigned a Zener symbol to each number. For each transmission, I would then check the particular table of random numbers and think about the corresponding symbol for 15 seconds. Each transmission took about 6 minutes. I did this when I was ready to go to sleep at night. We had sleeping bag hammocks that we would put underneath the couches. Two of us would go to sleep in a hammock while the other one would be on watch. I would do the experiment before going into my sleeping bag."

Essentially, mental telepathy and mind reading is about attuning your mind with the thoughts of another person. Mental telepathy between siblings can be stronger because siblings are naturally attuned to each other. Spiritual connection and telepathy are related, because spiritual connection creates a resonant frequency so you can attune to the wavelength of that person's thoughts and energy. Reading the minds of your friends and family means that you have a strong spiritual connection and resonance with them. However, you could train yourself to attune to other people's minds, which would be a great skill for law enforcement, security, lie detection, intelligence work, counseling, healing, medicine, etc. It can also be a beneficial gift in personal relationships - most people wish they could read their partner's mind!
