REUNITING AFTER SEPARATING
IN RELATIONSHIPS

Question: "What does it mean for me when people from my past that I have not had any contact with for years are contacting me?"

Psychic Advice:
We are all in each other's lives for a reason, and we come and go at different times to serve a purpose in each other's growth and evolution. Whether we realize it or not, every contact and connection we have with another, no matter how brief, allows us to learn and grow through our interactions, and through our actions and reactions.

Even the person who cuts you off on the road or who cuts in front of you in line serves a purpose by allowing you to choose your response, which essentially speaks of who you are and what kind of person you are choosing to be in that moment. If you choose to be angry, then that anger erupts and emanates from you, affecting everyone and everything around you for as long as you are choosing to be in that state. If you choose confrontation, then your anger escalates to conflict and violence, which contributes to the negative energy in the collective consciousness. If you choose to be in a state of instantaneous forgiveness, acceptance and allowance, then you choose peace and love for yourself, and ultimately, for all mankind.

We are all interconnected - we are all individual cells (selves) in the body of Creation. How we choose to respond and react to one another affects and changes everything. This is true even with those we would call strangers, but it is even more impactful and meaningful with those close to us.

We often choose to incarnate with the same souls over and over again, either because they are part of our soul group, or because we have sacred contracts or karmic bonds with certain individuals. We agree to meet each other at a particular time and under certain circumstances so we can create the ideal opportunity to learn from our experiences. Some of these experiences are pleasant and loving, while others may be far from it. The point is to grow and evolve through these experiences, and to change as a result.

When we change, everything and everyone around us must change as well. Every thought, every choice, every feeling, every action, reaction and interaction we have forever changes the fabric of all that is, because the frequency and vibration of energy we create ripples through the Universe and impacts all of Creation.

Sometimes, people around us don't like it when we change, because it means that they have to change also, or else our relationship with them will change. When this happens, friends and loved ones may try to hold us back or keep us down. They do this not out of a desire to sabotage our happiness and success, but because they are afraid and uncomfortable with change. They will do whatever is necessary to maintain the status quo and hold onto what is known and familiar.

Many people have experienced this when they return home from a course, retreat or workshop. They are high from having grown and raised their vibration while they were away, and are anxious to share this joy with their friends and loved ones. But friends and loved ones have continued to resonate on their usual frequency, and it is so easy to be brought back down to that level upon returning home - which often feels like a let down.

If we continue to change and grow at the same time that they continue to resist change, then we will either compromise our own growth and evolution in order to stay with them, or we will naturally grow apart from them. As we grow and change, we start to resonate at different frequencies, depending on the nature of the change we are undergoing.

When people choose to pursue a path of joy, peace, love and prosperity, they will raise their vibration to a higher frequency and thereby start to attract people and experiences that resonate on that new frequency. When people choose to pursue a path of negativity and addiction, they will lower their vibration and attract people and experiences that support them on their low frequency. If one person in a relationship is choosing to raise his/her vibration while the other person is lowering their own vibration, then one of three things will happen: the positive person can inspire and raise the other up, or the negative person can drag the other down, or if each one continues to grow in their own direction, they will not be able to stand being with each other and will grow apart.

This separation can be temporary in a lifetime, or can last several lifetimes, until the two vibrations either become harmonious again, or the inharmonious energies between the two people serve as a catalyst for further growth. Although like attracts like energy, we can also attract our opposite in order to learn from it. Sometimes opposites attract in order for both people to come into balance by meeting in the middle.

Reuniting after separating in relationships is possible when both people reach a new level of understanding. However, if both people firmly hold onto their old energies and beliefs, then the same patterns will simply repeat and play out again, probably with the same results. On the other hand, if both parties have grown and changed, and are willing to grow and change together, then reuniting marks a new beginning with infinite possibilities for peace, love, joy and happiness.

If we separate from each other in anger, bitterness, judgment or resentment, then we create karmic bonds of unfinished business that must be resolved at some time or another, in this life or another. People returning and reuniting with extended family provides an opportunity for resolution and completion of old issues and grievances.

When many people from the past start contacting you, it means that there are unresolved issues from that particular time in your life. It is an indication that you have grown and changed, and are now able to continue with those relationships on a higher level, or you may now have the opportunity for true completion with those relationships. It can also mean that those people that you left behind have now caught up to your level of evolution, and are ready, willing and able to grow with you once again.
