"WHAT INFLUENCES WOMEN
TO HAVE AN ABORTION"

Question: "I had an abortion a month ago and it has been very hard for me. I have dreams about the baby sometimes. I was wondering if he/she knows I love them and if they ever know about me."

Psychic Advice:
No matter what influences women to have an abortion, it is rarely a simple or easy decision to make. Many different situations can result in pregnancy and arise during pregnancy, and those conditions, along with the circumstances of a woman's life and relationships, can influence her decision regarding whether to have the baby or not. There are infinite factors that impact a woman's choices when it comes to abortion, but the key element in making this decision is that, for whatever reason, having a baby simply does not feel right at that particular time.

It is important to remember that a baby is not really a baby - it is a great evolving soul that has chosen to have an incarnational experience on Earth for the purpose of spiritual growth. A soul chooses its parents because those parents and their circumstances will offer the ideal conditions that will allow the soul to learn, grow and evolve. These "ideal" situations for learning and growth do not always seem to be ideal - they can often be challenging, painful and even dangerous.

From the soul's perspective, it's "all good" because every experience provides an opportunity for learning and growth, which allows the soul to evolve. Therefore, a soul is often willing to jump into life situations that are difficult, simply for the growth experience.

A soul usually "hangs around" its prospective parents for several years before choosing to incarnate. Many of these souls are part of both their parents' soul group, or they can be connected to only one parent. Sometimes these soul connections are karmic bonds, where there is unfinished business from other lifetimes together. Cases of miscarriage or abortion can be karmic in nature. There are many karmic factors that can impact these situations, including premature death in another lifetime, or the need to establish compassion, love or forgiveness between two souls.

Abortion or miscarriage can also be part of a sacred contract between souls. This sacred contract can offer the baby's soul a particular growth experience through partial incarnation.  The baby's soul can also offer the mother an experience that will cause her soul to grow and evolve spiritually and emotionally through love and loss, and through exercising her power of choice in her life. These sacred contracts serve both souls as both will grow and evolve through the experience.

By the Law of Free Will, both souls must choose to experience abortion or miscarriage. One may not be consciously aware of this choice, but the choice must be made by both parties. From a higher perspective, this is an act of unconditional love, and both souls become bonded by that love, and release each other through that agreement.

The issue is that the process of making the decision of whether to have an abortion or not is usually painful for both mother and child. The mother often agonizes over this decision, which fills her with painful emotions, and thereby fills her body with negative energies and chemicals that affect both her and the fetus. If she decides to have the baby, that child will be unconsciously impacted by feelings of not being truly wanted - but this, too, is part of a sacred contract and an agreement that the child's soul chose to have as an earthly experience.

A soul rarely comes fully into the body - it incarnates in stages and to varying degrees. Some element of a soul's consciousness will inhabit and animate the fetus at conception, but it is rare for a soul to choose to be fully conscious and present in the womb. More and more of a soul's consciousness will come into a fetus as the pregnancy progresses, but again, it is rare for a soul to be fully conscious and present during birth, or even in the first few months of infancy. One can readily see that some babies are more present and aware than others. This is because it is challenging and painful for a soul to come into a tiny, helpless body.

Throughout our lives, our soul also tends to come and go. The majority of our soul essence often remains outside the body, and constitutes our "higher self" or "oversoul". The more conscious and present we become, the more of our soul essence is embodied. An "enlightened being" is one whose soul is fully embodied and is therefore fully conscious and present. Conversely, severe trauma can knock us into unconsciousness as our soul can choose to leave the body little by little to avoid pain at any point during a lifetime. When one sees a person who looks vacant, as if they are "sleepwalking" through life, this is often what has occurred - the "lights are on, but no one is home".

Allow yourself to heal from the trauma of this experience and make peace with your choice as much as possible. The decision to have an abortion comes from love, just as the decision to have a baby comes from love. If you felt that you were not ready or able to be a good parent, then it is the most loving thing for yourself and for that baby to let it go. Some people would say that you could always put your child up for adoption, but that also involves a question of karma and free will for all souls involved. Many souls who are miscarried or aborted will return to their parents at a later date when the timing is better.

The dreams you are having about your baby indicate that you are still bonded and connected to each other in love. The most important thing is for you to accept your decision, to forgive yourself if you need to, and to release any feelings of guilt or shame. You did what you felt was true and right for you in that moment of your life. You are the only one who can make the best choices for your life because you are the only one who has to live your life. Trust yourself and trust your decisions, and allow yourself to learn and grow from this experience so you can evolve into a deeper, wiser, more loving, and more compassionate soul who will be ready to love and nurture a child if and when the time is right.
