CAN DREAMS BE
PREMONITIONS OF THE FUTURE?
Question #1: "I have dreams of future events, but simple ones, like what I will do in a few days. I will notice it as it comes along. Is this a form of psychic power?"
Psychic Advice:
Yes, this is a psychic power called "precognition" where your dreams can be premonitions of the future. We are often shown glimpses of the future to prepare us ahead of time for certain events. When we have an episode of "deja-vu", it is because we have already been shown that event (either in our dreams or before we incarnated), and it is an indication that we are in the right place at the right time on our path.
It is good that you are taking notice when the event actually happens - this is allowing you to become more conscious and more present with your intuitive guidance. In essence, you are becoming more awake and aware, and this will increase your power and accelerate your ability to manifest in your waking reality.
Question #2: "I believe that I have experienced a lot of clairvoyance through dreams. How can I take myself to a place I want to go, or talk to past lives to receive answers in my dreams? I have been given messages and I'm left not knowing what they mean until these things come to pass."
Psychic Advice:
It is best to keep a dream journal and start writing in it the moment you wake up, even in the middle of the night. Make sure you allow yourself to wake up slowly and gently, allowing the dreams to wash over you and to come to you. As you write, you will receive more and more pieces of the dream, and of other dreams you've had that night. It is like filling in pieces of a puzzle. As each piece comes, it may be helpful to jot down one word in the margin to remind you to come back to describe that piece in more detail.
It is important to relax - don't try too hard to remember the details of the dream, or you will push the dream away. Simply close your eyes, breathe, relax, and use all of your senses to recall what you saw, heard, felt and experienced. The more you make this a practice and a commitment, the better you will become at remembering your dreams.
It can be helpful before you go to sleep to repeat to yourself three times, "I will remember my dreams", and rub your third eye in a clockwise circle as you say this. This will improve your dream recall, especially if you commit yourself to writing your dreams down right away each time you wake up. As you start to regain consciousness, keep your eyes closed and allow yourself to replay key parts of the dream in your mind before you become fully awake.
You can also program your mind to dream about certain things. Before you go to sleep, write down in your dream journal the problem you would like clarity or guidance on, or the type of dream experience you would like to have. As you fall asleep, focus on this as much as possible, visualizing it in your mind's eye, and invoking a sincere emotional desire to have that experience.
If you receive messages or symbols, try to explore and understand them clearly while you are still in the dream. You can also affirm before going to sleep that you will receive messages and symbols in a way that you can clearly understand and remember them. Upon awakening, as you recall symbols or messages from your dreams, you can ask for clarification with regard to their meaning. In order to interpret a symbol, allow yourself to become that symbol, then feel what that symbol means to you.
If you find yourself aware that you are dreaming while you are in a dream, you can start to direct and interact consciously in that dream. This is called "lucid dreaming" and it can be very exciting and empowering. Once you gain the power to manifest consciously in your dreams, you will have more power to manifest what you desire in your life.
Question #3: "How does a person who has experienced precognitive dreams expand on this? If I'm being communicated with via dreams, is there a way to expand this communication to when I am awake? I've tried meditating but I'm not sure what the best way to meditate is."
Psychic Advice:
It is easier for our guides to communicate with us in the dreamtime because we are in a more open and receptive state of consciousness - in essence, we are actually more spiritually "awake" when we are asleep. In our waking state, we can tend to have a lot of mental chatter and resistance that interferes with our ability to receive guidance and communication. Meditation helps to still this chatter, but it is a bit of a "catch-22" as we must still the mental chatter in order to meditate.
The first thing I would suggest is that you don't try too hard to meditate or to receive communication. Relax, surround yourself with white light, and ask to receive all that is for the highest and best good of all for you to know. Focus on a question, then relax, close your eyes, breathe and let the answer come to you. You may want to write the question down, then close your eyes and relax; hold the pen in your non-dominant hand and write down whatever comes to you, or do so on a computer - this is called "automatic writing".
I would suggest that you keep a journal where you record all of your dreams, and all of your intuitive impressions, referring back to them often. Our guides always want to communicate with us, so the more you commit to developing and trusting this relationship with them and with yourself, the stronger your intuitive guidance will become on all levels of consciousness.
